Globalwin FOP38

FOP38s are finally here and available at online and at our dealer outlets! This Globalwin meanie runs at 6800rpm & 38CFM of pure air power! One of the best coolers out there, its performance is around 3-5C cooler than the FOP32-1, albeit it sounds very loud like a jet engine! Those who prefer a less noisy & slightly lower performing cooler can also opt for the FOP32-1, it's also a good cooler & approved by AMD up to 1.1Ghz. From now until Christmas, all our coolers are under 10% discount! Check them out HERE .

Other new items coming at the end of this month/next month include the famous Ratpadz, the ultimate precision mouse pad for Gamers as well as professional users & the Super Orbs. Last but not least, our buddy Rene has posted 2 new articles, Part II on his TNT2 mod project & an article about a blown up Enlight PSU. Check them out by clicking the links above!

New Chrome Orbs have just arrived! With its natural chrome colour & improved mounting Thermaltake continues to improve. The Fan speed is actually at 5,500 rpm & not 10,000 rpm as seen is some reviews. To check out on one of the first reviews on its performance, click HERE .

17/9/2000

New goodies are expected to arrive this September/early October! :-

1 Thermaltake Chrome Orbs for Socket 462 (with improved mounting & 10,000 rpm fan)
2. Globalwin FOP32/38 (Globalwin has reportedly improved the FOP32 further)
3. Arcticooler CA

The FOP38 is the current king of the hill for CPU coolers closely followed by FOP32 & Arcticooler CA. The Chrome Orbs should perform better than the current Golden Orbs & is targeted for budget users. We are also working with a supplier to bring in Alpha coolers in bulk so that we can all enjoy lower rates.

17/9/2000

It has been a busy month! We are gradually expanding to more dealers in Malaysia so that overclockers & those who wants performance can easily purchase our items. This month we have added MYPC and HGL Marketing as our dealers & more come soon.

I have also been experimenting with AMDs Tunderbird & so far I've got to say they are real hot! Temperatures are around 10-15C hotter than their Pentium 3 counterpart. That means you'll need better cooling. Golden Orbs can still cool Pentium 3 CPUs, but when it comes to Duron/Thunderbird, this is where they suffer (in our test when it reaches 900Mhz & above they run well over 60C!. We are waiting for Thermaltake's Chrome Orbs to arrive & hopefully it will perform better. Meanwhile our minimum recommendation for Duron/Thunderbirds is the Globalwin FOP32, the only AMD approved high performance cooler available locally. Currently most of our Globalwin stocks have run out due to a surge in demand and according to Globalwin our orders will be sent on 18/9/2000 so you can expect them to arrive somewhere at the end of next week.

Meanwhile, here's a glimpse of how good a Thunderbird 800@1000Mhz will do in 3D Mark2000 (using Creative Geforce 2 GTS @ 220/360 with the Creative Detonator 3 drivers/6.18) using a Alpha PEP66 (modified to fit Asus A7V v1.02) :-

Here's how it fares with Sandra's benchmark :-

If you have popped by our website lately you will notice that we have linked our message board with The Hardware Corner Malaysia (THC) to join more overclockers together. Hopefully with our colaboration and your support we will get as good (or even better) than Singapore's hardware sites. Also our of our site visitors have come up with his creative skills and designed a banner for us (see above). Thanks Aaron !

We have also received Globalwin's latest cooler ie. FOP32. Initial testing shows very good results and now I am using it to run my own Pentium 3-700 @ 933 Mhz. Here's a look at the cooler :-

Globalwin FOP32

How good does a Pentium3 700@933Mhz run? Using Sandra's benchmark as a yardstick, here's the result :-

The result was used with Asus CUBX motherboard @ 1.95v .. yes.. the voltage is a bit high but now it's still at the 'burn in' stage. Next step up for the CUBX is 140Mhz FSB ie. 980Mhz .. will keep you guys posted if I manage to acheive it. To order the Globalwin FOP32 online, head on here . Our range of coolers can also be bought through our dealers througout Malaysia.

Just dropped by our local PCFair 2000. Click HERE for our short article & a few pics on our latest PCFAIR at PWTC.

29/6/2000

We have gotten hold of limited quantities of Celeron 566 (OEM) (SL46T Made in Malaysia). So far the success rate is 100% to run at 850Mhz (8.5 * 100) with a decent cooler eg. Golden Orb or Globalwin FKP32. With something better like the Senfu Water Cooler and proper 'burn-in' 953Mhz can even be acheived! We have now surpassed 953 and even managed to reach 993Mhz! Check out the benchmarks under SiSoft Sandra :-

Rene who is a visitor has just posted an article on how to remove the heatsink from your vga card. For more info pls. click HERE.

On our latest testing on Senfu water cooling set, we manged to push the Celeron 400 all the way to 672Mhz @ 2.3v. It could run standard windows apps but not gaming, had to push it one step down using our MSI6163 MB to 618Mhz in order to run smoothlyNot bad at all! Here's Sandra's benchmark results :-

26/5/2000

We will be taking a holiday break from 18/5/2000 - 21/5/2000 for the Wesak weekend so all orders made/received will only be processed on 22/5/2000. For those of you who have sent cheques & not cleared by 18/5/2000, your orders will be sent on 22/5/2000.

Upgrade works are completed & your shopping experience should be even better now witn 100X the bandwith! The radical Golden Orbs have just arrived & now available at RM115 plus FREE delivery within Malaysia! Also available are the RDJD K601 coolers & most of our coolers have been restocked including Alpha PEP66. Almost everything is in stock & we now have more choices then ever. The good news as Thermaltake's authorised dealer for Malaysia is that we will be giving away 1 FREE Golden Orb for our banner design contest! The banner should read 'OVERCLOCKERS PARADISE' with the slogan 'For All Your Overclocking Desires'. All entries should be submitted to dannl@op.theshoppe.com by 1/6/2000. Good Luck!

24/4/2000

Our product server ie. 'The Store' is under upgrading works. You can still order as usual but for CPU & Ram Prices please email us at dannl@op.theshoppe.com to get the latest prices & availability status before ordering.

20/4/2000

Our new Globalwin Stocks have arrived, including Globalwin FKP32 (Socket 7/370/FC PGA), VOS32+ (Slot 1, Slot A(Athlon)), CAF12 (Slot Cooler), FA420 (Graphics card cooler) and Thermal pads (40mm x 40mm). I was keen to compare the FKP32 & Golden Orb & find out which one fares better.

Globalwin FKP32

Here are our prelimary results testing it with a Celeron 400@600 at 2.3v :-

CPU Temp.
FKP32
Golden Orb
Idle
36 Celcius
38 Celcius
1 hr Quake Arena
41 Celcius
44 Celcius

Pretty good results for the FKP32. Surprisingly it beat the Golden Orb. However, please take note that this is just our prelimary testing & not conclusive. One drawback in terms of design is that the Golden Orb has small surface contact, therefore when installing you will have to make sure that it covers your CPU 100%. Older CPUs like the Celeron PPGA will have problems but we feel that the new FC PGAs should have no problems since the CPU surface is a lot smaller. The FKP is now available while our main batch of Golden Orbs shall arive around 1 week's time. We will update the review when we have gotten more feedbacks. Both are great coolers and definately a well worth buy for their price.
